Wakey Wakey Walkers

We have recruited a wonderful group of volunteers who take the dogs at Cardiff Dogs Home on daily walks giving them a break from life in the kennels.
It is a great opportunity to see the dogs outside of the kennel environment and learn a bit more about them. The volunteers not only walk the dogs but also write up details of the dogs on the our friendly forum where potential new owners can find out more about each dog available for rehoming. This is a fantastic resource to promote the dogs and the input from the volunteers is invaluable. If you would like to become a walker please visit our walkers page.

Sensory Garden

The sensory garden provides an area in situ at the home where dogs' natural behaviours can be observed and encouraged, so dogs, walkers, volunteers, and visitors to the home have a heightened experience.
Most importantly, the dogs resident in CDH have an opportunity to run off lead, to sniff, to explore, to hide, to seek, to dig, to splash, to play!
The sensory garden provides a safe, outdoor area for 'practical' exercises. It's a truly wonderful facility. Creating it was only possible due to the tremendous support the charity received to fund the project and the volunteers’ time to make it happen.
